EU abandons plans to overhaul copyright levies
In a surprise move, the European Commission said Wednesday it is shelving plans to overhaul Europe’s rules on copyright fees, after intense lobbying from France and from groups representing artists and authors….
The Commission wanted to harmonize the rules and scrap levies on most hardware….The Commission’s climb down sparked an angry reaction from the companies and industry groups pushing for a change to the system…. several large European companies now intend to file official complaints with the Commission that will likely result in a wave of infringement procedures against certain member states. ”The reform of copyright levies would then move from the European executive to the European Court of Justice,” CLRA said in its statement. – Infoworld

Med risk för att vara vulgär kan de stoppa upp sina patent dit där solen aldrig skiner.
Tills dess man hittat ett system som inte kan missbrukas till den milda grad så är det min ståndpunkt.
Därmed inte sagt att ett system som är någorlunda juste inte skulle kunna fylla en funktion. Problemet är balansen mellan långvariga royaltys och den allmänna nyttan. När royaltys betalt tillbaka utvecklingskostnaden… ja då styr girigheten. En viss girighet må väl vara tillåten frågan är bara hur mycket?
